CCPI 2026: Media Response
An overview of international newspaper articles as well as important statistics, German press coverage and social media activity on this year’s CCPI.
The Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) is published annually at the UN climate conferences. On November 18th at COP30 in Belém, the launch of CCPI 2026 attracted once more immense international attention. The CCPI was mentioned over 819 times in at least 59 countries around the world. Leading and renowned media around the world reported on the CCPI, including the BBC, Forbes, El País, The Indian Express, Tagesschau, Süddeutsche Zeitung and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
Coverage was also exceptionally strong in India with 85 mentions, followed by the United States with 64 mentions, and Austria with 58 mentions. In the German media the CCPI was mentioned over 176 times.
